If you have browsed many sites, you have probably encountered some error message once in a while. An error could occur if the server can't process a request (Error 400), if you must log in so that you can see some content and you haven't done so (Error 401), if you aren't able to access some webpage (Error 403) or if a link leads to a file that is not on the website hosting server (Error 404). Encountering this kind of messages can sometimes be frustrating since the pages don't have anything in common with the actual website. That’s why some website hosting companies permit you to use your own error pages that will match the style of your own site and which could have any content that you want - information why the error has appeared, a suggestion what you can do or even some witty comment. Such a function will help you keep the visitor on the website regardless of the error and the reason for it.

Custom Error Pages in Website Hosting

You will be able to set up personalized error pages for all of your websites with ease when you use any of our Linux website hosting packages. This could be done using the Hosted Domains part of the Hepsia CP, offered with all accounts and once you go there, you can set your customized pages independently for any domain or subdomain. You need to upload the files to your account ahead of time and input the links to them during the process. This feature could be de-activated anytime and the options you shall be able to to select from are a standard page from our system or a default Apache web server page. Personalized error pages could be set with an .htaccess file as well. The file should be placed in the domain or subdomain folder and it must include some system code and links to the pages. If you aren't tech-savvy, you could copy the whole content required for the file from our Help section.
